Postdoctoral Scientist in Radiopharmaceutical Development – Radiobiologist / Radiopharmacist

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a pioneering project at the intersection of various disciplines within cancer research. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and conducting experiments to assess the (radio)biological impacts of self-produced radioligands, radiopharmaceuticals, and radiolabeled biomolecules targeting breast cancer.
  • Examining cellular and molecular dynamics affecting both tumor and healthy cell lines in vitro, focusing on receptor binding, internalization, and cytotoxicity assessments.
  • Establishing critical in vivo studies to evaluate biodistribution patterns, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic effectiveness of selected lead compounds.
  • Co-supervising advanced imaging methodologies in tumor-bearing models, including PET, SPECT, and microscopy.
  • Collaborating closely with (radio-)chemists to optimize drug leads.
  • Independently or collaboratively drafting scientific publications and grant proposals.
  • Mentoring students and colleagues.
  • Presenting research findings at internal and external meetings, including group discussions, conferences, and workshops.
Your Qualifications
  • PhD and master's degree in biology, bioengineering, or a related discipline, ideally with a specialization in cancer biology or biochemistry.
  • Extensive experience in cell culture, tumor biology, and biological assays.
  • Mandatory experience and certification in animal handling.
  • Solid understanding of molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR/qPCR, WB, FC, IHC, etc.).
  • Proficient in advanced imaging techniques (e.g., microscopy, PET, SPECT).
  • Skilled in bioinformatics and statistical tools for analyzing complex biological data.
  • Proven experience in open radioactivity handling, radiation biology, and animal handling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards for animal testing applications.
  • Strong publication history in internationally recognized scientific journals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in collaborative and interdisciplinary environments.
  • Highly motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently while adhering to global GLP standards.
  • A genuine passion for science and a commitment to making a significant impact in cancer research.
  • Fluency in scientific English is essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • A background in (bio-)organic chemistry is a plus, though not required.
