Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of advanced technicians in a large-scale, prospective analysis of how sex shapes mutagenesis and cancer inception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of advanced technicians in a large-scale, prospective analysis of how sex shapes mutagenesis and cancer inception
- Develop and optimize cutting-edge experimental genomics tools, including spatial transcriptomics, nanopore and other long-read sequencing, and cell multiomics
- Collaborate with computational research groups across Heidelberg to analyze and interpret genomic data
- Design and implement experiments to investigate the role of sex in cancer development
- Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier scientific journals
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, genomics, or cancer research
- Extensive experience in single-cell methods, transcriptional regulation, cancer genomics, epigenetics, evolutionary biology, bioinformatics, and/or comparative genomics
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience in managing teams and coordinating research projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate in a professional setting
