Research Division

The newly formed Division of Policy and Implementation Research for Cancer Prevention aims to effectively connect scientific evidence with practical policy and community practices in cancer prevention.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the implementation and analytical processes of a study investigating the geographical distribution of tobacco and alcohol outlets across Germany.
  • Publish research findings in reputable academic journals.
  • Engage in innovative methods for knowledge translation to communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to grant writing efforts.
  • Participate in additional policy and implementation research projects within the division.

This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts in cancer prevention, policymakers, and community stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should possess:

  • A Master's degree and a PhD in public health, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying GIS methodologies in health research, along with proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and statistical analysis tools.
  • A strong interest in policy and implementation research, with a commitment to bridging the gap between evidence and practice.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not mandatory.
