Research Associate in the Field of Quantum Spin Transport for Enhancing Semiconductor Qubit Technologies

vor 3 Wochen

Jülich, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland Forschungszentrum Jülich Vollzeit

Your Role:

Building upon custom-engineered devices, we have recently showcased the capability to transport electrons between gate-defined quantum wells in Si/SiGe across micron-scale distances utilizing merely four distinct AC voltages, irrespective of the distance traversed. Theoretical analyses suggest promising prospects for sustaining spin coherence of the transported electron, which would render this method highly advantageous for advancing semiconductor spin qubit technologies. This role emphasizes the experimental validation of coherent spin transport, transport-compatible high-fidelity qubit manipulation, and additional components for a transport-based framework, employing devices from academic or industrial production.
Key responsibilities may encompass:

Experimental validation and characterization of spin coherence during transport
Transport-compatible demonstration of high-fidelity qubit manipulation
Validation of T-Junctions (Fig. 1(b)) as a step towards qubit networks
Development of a transport-based framework with 2D connectivity
Transition to industrially produced devices

Your Qualifications:

Master's degree and PhD in physics or a related field
Extensive experience with quantum control experiments on quantum well qubits
Proficient software development capabilities
Familiarity with sub-Kelvin cryogenic methodologies
Strong inclination towards mentoring emerging researchers
Excellent communication abilities
A robust motivation to engage in ambitious, pioneering research aimed at scalable quantum computing
A research portfolio aligned with our aspirations

Our Proposition:

In addition to engaging in a highly stimulating research domain, we provide:

Participation in a distinctive comprehensive approach ranging from the exploration of novel concepts to their technological realization
A robust network, particularly concerning semiconductor innovations
Cutting-edge infrastructure
A collaborative team environment
A well-balanced workplace
A broader research landscape with a strong emphasis on quantum computing
A competitive remuneration and benefits package
Full-time engagement with the possibility of slightly reduced hours and 30 days of annual leave
Specialized services for international staff, through our International Advisory Service
Enjoyable events, see
