Agricultural Program Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Program Associate. This position is pivotal in the planning and execution of various agricultural programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently in the planning and implementation of agricultural initiatives.
- Collaborate with Project Leaders and supervisors to ensure effective project management.
- Engage in both laboratory and field activities related to agricultural research and outreach.
- Establish and manage large plot research trials, including crop scouting and management.
- Assist in the facilitation of irrigation yield contests and implement innovative water management practices.
- Support the development of educational materials and reports for extension programs.
- Conduct data collection, summarization, and statistical analysis for field experiments.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting weights of at least 50 pounds, operating various agricultural machinery, and conducting fieldwork on cooperating farms.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanized Systems Management, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or Engineering, along with three years of related experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related discipline is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in a relevant field and familiarity with farming practices, irrigation systems, and agricultural machinery.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a high level of technical competence in irrigation practices are essential. The candidate should demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
