Program Associate

The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Associate to join our team. As a Program Associate, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of programs in agricultural research and outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and outreach activities in agricultural fields, including establishing large plot research trials, scouting and managing crops, and establishing on-farm research.
- Operate and maintain equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and combines, and perform physical work such as lifting and carrying heavy loads.
- Assist with the facilitation of the Arkansas Irrigation Yield Contest and develop materials for reports, publications, extension programs, and research presentations.
- Collaborate with water management engineers to develop and implement new irrigation technologies on working farms.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Mechanized Systems Management, Agriculture Technology Management, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Engineering, Agronomy, Soil Science, or Crop Science.
- Three years of related experience or a Master's degree in a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, and work independently.
- M.S. in a related field.
- Experience and/or knowledge of farming and familiarity with irrigation, engines, pumps, farm machinery, and producing crops.
- Certified Crop Advisor or ability to obtain.
