Job Overview:
About the Department: The Risk Methodology division plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of credit risk assessment methodologies at Deutsche Bank. This team provides risk managers with effective tools for resource allocation, risk appetite management, and informed credit decision-making. Additionally, the Risk Methodology department ensures compliance with regulatory and economic capital requirements across all developed models. Within this division, the LGD/CCF Methodology Team is primarily responsible for calibrating Loss-Given-Default (LGD) and Credit Conversion Factor (CCF) parameters for all credit portfolios within the Deutsche Bank Group. Your Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain models for credit risk parameters for retail and wholesale portfolios in accordance with regulatory standards (CRR, EBA GL on PD/LGD, EGIM, etc.)
- Plan and execute complex, long-term projects in model development with a focus on methodological and data-specific issues
- Address regulatory and internal findings related to the methodology for determining credit risk parameters and associated models
- Engage in active collaboration with management as well as regulatory and supervisory authorities
Your Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree, diploma, or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., financial mathematics/statistics/econometrics) with an emphasis on applying theoretical knowledge in practice
- In-depth knowledge of modeling credit risk parameters (PD, LGD, CCF) and over 5 years of proven experience in modeling internal credit risk parameters (PD, LGD, CCF)
- Advanced IT/data management skills and analytical capabilities, along with extensive experience in common statistical and programming languages (at least SAS, Python)
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing complex projects in model development, with substantial experience in conducting regulatory audits and external assessments of internal models
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey clear messages and explain complex ideas understandably, excellent written and verbal proficiency in English, and good written and verbal proficiency in German preferred
