Advanced Imaging Research Fellowship: Bridging Molecular and Clinical Fertility Science

Position Overview
This role focuses on the intersection of reproductive health and cutting-edge imaging technologies. As assisted reproductive technologies (ART) gain prominence in our society, understanding the biological processes influencing fertility becomes increasingly critical. Recent advancements in optical imaging, particularly light sheet fluorescence microscopy, have significantly enhanced our ability to visualize cellular and molecular dynamics in mammalian models, particularly in oocytes and early embryos.
However, the transition of these insights into clinical settings remains a challenge due to the necessity for imaging techniques that can operate without disrupting the delicate biological processes at play during early development. Our initiative seeks to address this gap by creating a pioneering hybrid microscopy platform.
This project will integrate the molecular specificity of fluorescence microscopy with label-free imaging techniques, such as optical coherence and Brillouin microscopies. These methods will provide detailed morphological and mechanical insights into embryos. The multimodal data generated will serve as a foundation for training artificial intelligence (AI) models, enabling the recognition of molecular and cellular alterations from label-free images alone.
Through this innovative approach, we aim to develop a high-resolution imaging platform that effectively bridges the divide between fundamental research and clinical practice, thereby enhancing our understanding of infertility.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in optical microscopy, reproductive biology, or related fields. The ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment is essential.
