Job Description

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Manager Technology and New Business Development to join our corporate "New Venture" team at SCHOTT AG.

This role involves identifying and developing business opportunities within the Medical / Life Sciences space and building a strong pipeline for innovation adjacent to our existing business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong business acumen paired with deep technological understanding and several years of international experience in business/new business development department of a technology company or renowned business consultancy firm with strong technological focus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptual development (business / sales / implementation models) for selected applications, drafting of purposeful business plans for subsequent decision-making and operative implementation, proactive cooperation with internal functional units, potential customers and external partners, and transfer of business ideas into the business units, and support in the development of strategies and concepts for the marketing and sales of new products.

Requirements

  • Excellent University degree in a technical/natural science/materials field with a doctorate (preferable) and additional business training with proven business track record
  • Strong business acumen paired with deep technological understanding
  • Several years of international experience in business/new business development department of a technology company or renowned business consultancy firm with strong technological focus
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills; experience in the compilation, evaluation and interpretation of market analyses
  • Entrepreneurial approach with strong commitment to teamwork
  • Knowledge of the technological trends in MEDTECH / Life Sciences markets and identification of innovative product ideas and business areas
  • Proven track record of successful cooperation in international projects as a member of a cross-functional teams, ideally project management experience
  • Fluent business English (written and spoken); German is a plus
