Research and Business Development Specialist

Key Responsibilities

The Research and Business Analyst will serve as the central data source for requests, both internal and external, for information about Tallahassee Community College. This role will be responsible for conducting data collection, statistical analysis, and presenting data to stakeholders. The analyst will also assist and train users in college departments with accessing data, creating reports, reviewing data, and interpreting information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field related to research, analysis, or computing from an accredited college or university
  • Applicable experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the educational requirement
  • A minimum of two years of experience in data analysis

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of research processes, including data collection, analysis, standardized reporting, statistical reporting, and data presentation methods
  • Knowledge of the postsecondary educational environment in general
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Community Colleges
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while working under pressure
  • Ability to think analytically and logically and to use existing resources to troubleshoot data anomalies or issues, and to identify and implement creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to design and complete complex analytical projects
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently, working with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the College
  • Skills using and developing spreadsheets, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Relational skills using databases such as SAS, SQL, and procedural programming languages
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate clearly with staff, colleagues, and researchers
