Sanitary, Heating, and Air Conditioning Technician Location: Germany Application Eligibility

Who is eligible to apply?

Internal employees within Germany, including all local staff of the U.S. Armed Forces, such as the Air Force and AAFES-Europe.
External applicants residing in Germany are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves a diverse range of operations, maintenance, and repair tasks across various utility systems. Responsibilities include:

1. **Operation and Maintenance**: Handling large central or individual heating plants powered by oil, natural gas, liquid gas, or wood, along with hot water and steam systems.
2. **System Management**: Activating, deactivating, filling, venting, and draining systems to ensure safe operation.
3. **Repair and Maintenance**: Conducting repairs on oil or liquid gas tanks, pipes, pressure gauges, and control devices, ensuring all systems function correctly.
4. **Equipment Inspection**: Identifying and rectifying issues with equipment, fixtures, or parts, including replacing defective components.
5. **Use of Tools**: Employing standard trade tools, such as electronic testing equipment and pipe wrenches, while applying trade methods and techniques.
6. **Quality Control**: Performing water and air quality tests to maintain compliance with technical standards and taking corrective actions as necessary.
7. **Vehicle Operation**: Regularly operating a transport vehicle, requiring a Class III/B driver's license, to carry out daily duties.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following educational and experience requirements:

- **A-5**: Completion of vocational training lasting at least 30 months in the relevant trade or 5 years of specialized experience.
- **A-6**: Completion of vocational training plus 2 years of experience at a comparable difficulty level, or 8 years of specialized experience with 3 years at the equivalent level.

Additionally, a valid German driver's license class B is required, along with English proficiency at level A1 and German proficiency at level B2.

Employment Conditions

• Occasional travel within Germany may be required.
• Weekend, holiday, and shift work may be necessary.
• On-call duty is expected.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs is essential.
