Lead Laboratory Technician

- Expertise in fundamental laboratory techniques and data gathering, including the ability to assess laboratory outcomes for overall quality and consistency.
- Operate essential laboratory instruments (e.g., PCR machines, microtomes, tabletop centrifuges) and resolve basic issues.
- Carry out tasks in accordance with established protocols.
- Examine raw data for quality assurance and consistency.
- Conduct basic statistical analysis and visually present data using Microsoft Excel.
- Prepare chemical solutions and buffers as necessary, converting measurements as required.
- Manage multiple tasks at various stages of completion.
- Assist junior team members as needed.
- Maintain a precise and current laboratory notebook documenting work as required.
- Operate within a regulated GCP environment utilizing Laboratory Information and Management Software (LIMS).
- Engage in general laboratory upkeep, including cleaning freezers, shared spaces, and equipment, as well as restocking shared reagents and supplies.
- Contribute to the development of new assays and devices during the validation phase.
- Uphold the confidentiality of personal information pertaining to patients, colleagues, and all individuals with whom the company interacts.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations governing the company and its operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Completed vocational training as BTA/CTA/MTLA (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in life sciences with educational laboratory experience and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality in both laboratory practices and documentation.
- Strong laboratory skills, including proficiency in pipetting, documentation, and procedures (clinical, sterile, or molecular, based on laboratory needs).
- Experience in converting measurements and preparing chemical solutions and buffers.
- Ability to comprehend and execute protocols consistently, as demonstrated through prior laboratory experience.
- Basic experience or proficiency with laboratory equipment and analyses such as DNA/RNA extractions, PCRs, NGS, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English.
