Avionics Systems Engineer

Position Overview:

Your mission in this role:

  • Manage and oversee the requirements for systems, subsystems, and equipment within the Avionics sector.
  • Validate requirements and assist in verification processes.
  • Handle problem reports and oversee change requests for assigned systems.
  • Conduct and facilitate design reviews for systems and components (PDR, CDR, etc.) both internally and with external suppliers.
  • Support development assurance activities, including system audits to demonstrate compliance with ARP 4754A.
  • Prepare and execute data-bus design reviews, analyses, and testing.
  • Generate compliance evidence for certification, including test plans, design reviews, and analysis reports.
  • Assist in the integration of newly developed and COTS equipment, including reviewing test procedures and conducting environmental qualification gap analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Engage in communication with certification authorities.
Qualifications:

Essential skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, communications engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in aerospace development.
  • Familiarity with Avionics functions and technologies related to communication, navigation, surveillance, indication, crew alerting, and data recording.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with ARP4754A and DO-160 standards.
  • Understanding of certification deliverables for Type Certificate programs in CS-25/23/29/27.
  • Proven experience in requirements engineering using management tools such as Integrity or DOORS.
  • At least 5 years of experience with data-bus technologies (e.g., CAN, A-429, RS-485).
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers for development to specification and COTS integration for aircraft systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting experience, and a methodical approach.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with software and airborne electronic hardware standards DO-178 and DO-254.
  • Experience in an EASA approved Design Organization (Part21J) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ARINC-825 Bus.
