Company Overview
At Volocopter, we are at the forefront of electric air mobility, innovating electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) to transform urban transportation. Our journey began in 2011 with the first crewed flight of a fully electric multicopter, and we have since completed over 2,000 test flights globally.
Role Overview
Your responsibilities in this role:
- Manage requirements for systems, subsystems, and equipment within the Avionics sector.
- Validate requirements and assist in verification processes.
- Address issues and manage change requests for designated systems.
- Organize and conduct design reviews for systems and components, both internally and with suppliers.
- Support development assurance activities, including system audits for ARP 4754A compliance.
- Prepare and execute data-bus design reviews, analyses, and testing.
- Aid in generating compliance evidence for certification, including test plans and analysis reports.
- Facilitate integration activities for newly developed and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment.
- Collaborate closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Engage in communication with certification authorities.
Required Qualifications
Essential skills:
- Degree in aerospace, electrical, or communications engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in aerospace development.
- Proficiency in Avionics technologies related to communication, navigation, surveillance, and data recording.
- In-depth knowledge of ARP4754A and DO-160 standards.
- Familiarity with certification deliverables for Type Certificate programs in CS-25/23/29/27.
- Proven experience in requirements engineering using tools like Integrity or DOORS.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with data-bus systems (CAN, A-429, RS-485, etc.).
- Experience collaborating with suppliers for development and integration of aircraft systems.
- Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with software and airborne electronic hardware standards such as DO-178 and DO-254.
- Background in EASA approved Design Organizations (Part21J) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ARINC-825 Bus systems.
