As a Lead Customer & User Researcher in the Design & Insights team, you will play a crucial role within ZEISS Digital Partners and actively contribute to the success and impact of the digital transformation at ZEISS. You are eager to understand complex topics and contexts, ranging from medical technology to metrology. You are driven to define research questions and scope, oversee recruiting, lead and conduct user research, moderate workshops, identify opportunities and translate insights into ideas and implementable designs. You're passionate about developing user-centered products and services and want to bring to life seamless customer journeys and workflows.
As a Lead Customer & User Researcher, you will- Lead projects and teams from explorative Design Thinking phases to MVP definition and agile implementation.- Help (potential) customers and users to imagine the future, and develop, iterate and test (digital) products and services accordingly with your team.- Guide teams to develop solutions based on customer needs - quickly moving from initial hypotheses and findings to prototypes, MVPs and implementation roadmaps.- Oversee multiple projects and act as a reliable and strong partner for the ZEISS business units - in often complex contexts like medical technology, microscopy, or metrology.- Ensure highest quality regarding project outcomes, stakeholder management and collaboration.- Challenge and further develop our methodologies and help to scale Design Thinking and agile ways of working at ZEISS.- Help to build and manage partnerships, support recruiting and grow our network.

Your ProfileA Master’s degree in User Research related studies (e.g. sociology, human-computer interaction, psychology, anthropology) - or an equivalent work experience- At least 8 years of professional experience in a leading research & innovation agency (or in-house)- A convincing track record that shows your ability to move from customer insights to MVP- Experience as a team / project / community of practice lead with strong project planning skills- A broad skillset to cover the full range of research methods - like qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, field studies and co-creation workshops leveraging latest tools (e.g. condens, miro, userzoom, mobile video journals, maze)- Experience with Design Thinking and agile ways of working- A natural passion and curiosity for technology, enthusiasm for innovation- Experience with working in interdisciplinary teams and with diverse roles, from design to business or tech experts- Entrepreneurial thinking, experience in a start-up environment is an advantage- Very strong verbal, written and visual presentation skills in English and ideally also German- The ability to communicate the value of customer centricity within a design and business context
