**Psychological Counselor and Intercultural Officer (m-f-d)**:
**(Part-time/20 hours per week, limited for 2 year)**

The goal of the Counseling Center is to actively assist students in resolving existing problems, preventing potential problems, and developing new skills that will enrich their lives and help them cope with challenges. Counseling services include individual counseling, group counseling, workshops, outreach activities, referral services, and self-help materials among many others.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Providing counseling services for young adults from very diverse backgrounds; this includes individual counseling, couples counseling, group counseling, and emergency intervention.
- Developing and conducting preventive measures to ensure the safety, health and well-being of students e.g. workshops and trainings for a variety of topics of interest, such as Self-Management, Stress-Management, Self-Esteem, Communication, Presentation Skills, Decision Making, etc.
- Developing and conducting outreach activities and awareness campaigns for topics of interest, such as Drug & Alcohol Abuse, Eating Disorders, Depression & Suicide Prevention, Stress, etc.
- Developing and conducting intercultural training and promoting Intercultural Competence on and off campus.
- Designing, conducting, and analyzing surveys on topics of interest, such as intercultural competence, and others
- Emergency assistance / intervention for students.
- Support or independently develop services related to intercultural competence and communication.
- Manage responsible processes efficiently
- Ensure orderly and timely processing of day-to-day business
- Carry out control and coordination activities and solve discrepancies/errors independently
- Create and update process documentation
- Ensure knowledge transfer to other employees

**Your qualifications**:

- Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in psychology, counseling or related field. Clinical training and/or extensive work experience desired. Extensive training in a non-Western healing approach is considered a plus.
- Experience in the intercultural field, experience with train-the-trainer, be it as trainer, coach, consultant, or researcher. Expatriate experience is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of or life experience in Africa, Asia, Latin America, or Eastern Europe is a plus.
- Extensive experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and profound knowledge in SPSS.
- Comfort with and openness to new communication approaches, such as social media, podcasting, etc.
- Passion for working with people; willingness to “go the extra mile”, community orientation, stress resistance.
- Independent, highly committed, service-oriented and meticulous work style
- Conceptually strong, organizational talent
- Excellent German and English skills required; any additional languages are a plus.
