The Institute of Mineralogy in the Faculty of Geosciences at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a

**Postdoctoral Research Associate**
**Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in**
**(salary level TV-L E 13)**

for the externally funded project SA 2585/4-2 commencing on 1 September 2023. We are offering a fixed term full-time position (100%) for 2.5 years (30 months).

**Your tasks**:

- Investigate the deep volatiles cycles and related geodynamic process in planetary interiors within the frame of the DFG-funded SA 2585/4-2 project.
- Perform density measurements on volatile-bearing melts (namely carbon-rich and transitional melts) and thermodynamic modelling to gain quantitative insights into the mobility of deep mantle melts.
- Conduct some laboratory task and participate in supervision and mentoring of Master and PhD students in the group ( 10%).
- Collaborate in the acquisition of third-part funding.

**Our expectations**:

- Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Geosciences, Physics, Chemistry or in a related field at the time of the appointment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently are expected.
- Good command of written and spoken English is required.
- German language skills are not a requirement but willingness to learn would be desirable.
