**What you will do**
- You will be in charge of the business unit "Quantum Technology Components" and responsible for its strategic focus on promising and sustainable research topics.
- The initiation and acquisition of new research projects from public and industrial clients are also part of your responsibilities.
- In addition, you will be responsible for establishing and expanding networks on a national and international level.
- You will also manage research projects and coordinate larger collaborative projects.
- You will ensure forward-looking, timely and efficient project and project cost planning.
- Last but not least, you develop new business models.

**What you bring to the table**
- You have a PhD in physics, electrical engineering or a comparable field.
- Ideally, you already have knowledge and professional experience in the field of semiconductor lasers and quantum technologies or systems.
- You have experience in conducting public and industrial research projects and/or maintain a network and have multiple contacts with industrial, public and university partners.
- You show strong initiative as well as commitment and are characterized by your ability to work in a team and your high communication skills.
- Very good German and/or English as well as the willingness to travel on business and a class B driver's license complete your profile

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to three years. A longer-term collaboration is envisaged. Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
