**Senior Expert Global Business Strategy**:
Location: Preference for EMEA time zone

**Purpose**

The overall purpose of this position at DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) is to facilitate development and implementation of DGF’s Strategy in line with the DGF Global Forwarding Board agenda. This includes support to design the annual strategic planning as well as the management of key strategic projects. The position plays a key role in enabling everyone within DGF to understand DGF's strategic direction and what role everyone plays in achieving this goal.

**Tasks**

Strategic planning/ roadmap:

- Facilitate definition of DGF’s strategic roadmap including annual priorities in alignment with key business functions and senior management
- Support mid
- and long-term planning process (Strategy 2020 and beyond)
- Work closely with Corporate departments and other key stakeholders (e.g. DHL Freight) to align on content and requirements

Strategic Projects:

- Support in developing ,detailing and implementing DGF Strategic Roadmap towards 2020
- Initiate and manage strategic projects across the organization related to key topics such as digitalization, expansions, profitability and performance improvements, functional development
- Help to structure projects and approach to key topics
- Independent development and preparation of analysis and concepts and conversion of findings into relevant decision papers
- Preparation of presentations for the Global Forwarding Management Board
- Contact point to global functions and regions within DHL Global Forwarding and responsible for management of key stakeholders

Strategy communication:

- Design and continuously enhance the strategy communication approach to explain DGF’s strategic direction and related expectations to various stakeholder groups
- Work closely with external agencies on the creation of communication material, e.g. videos, brochures, online games, etc. and ensure both price and timeline restrictions are fulfilled

Support turnaround/performance improvement projects for specific countries:

- Support countries in improving their business performance
- Define and develop strategic initiatives together with country teams

**Skills and Knowledge required**
- Very good project management skills
- Very good communication and presentation skills
- Analytical skills and ability to structure content and convert it into presentations (i.e. storylining)
- Experience through advanced education and work experience in a strategy role or business management/ consulting
- Ideally experience in strategic planning process
- Ideally experience in Freight Forwarding on global or regional level (strong plus)
- Intercultural skills (e.g. through international experience through work or study)
- Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager
- Academic degree (masters or higher) in any field but preference would be on business administration or logistics
- Fluent in English, understanding of German would be considered an asset
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience/qualifications
- More than 6 years relevant experience in project management and preferably in forwarding logistic
- Preferably supervisory or team lead experience
