Global and Regional Business Controller for Starbroker

Finance Senior Management Team member of Starbroker

Key stakeholder from Global Finance to GFB (Global CEO/Global CFO/Global Head of AFR) for Starbroker

Influence and drive strategic decision-making processes and management reviews for Starbroker globally as independent controlling business partner towards Global and Regional Heads of Starbroker

Design, drive and ensure implementation of complex and high financial impact Starbroker strategies/decisions globally

Analyze/simulate complex financial/business scenarios for Starbroker to allow for correct priorities setting and right decision making in accordance with Corporate DPDHL and DGF Air Freight strategy/objectives

Leads Business Case creation/submission for all high financial value/high risk Starbroker investment projects that require approval from DPDHL Corporate Board

**Principal accountabilities**
- Develop, implement, manage and maintain the reporting and analysis needs of Starbroker
- Analyze financial and organic performance of Global/Regional Starbroker Carrier and Country Starbroker HUBs/Gateways in a timely/accurate manner and make recommendations to Starbroker Senior Management team for decision making
- Lead and ensure the creation, submission and follow-up on key investment request/business cases with high project volumes to the DPDHL Corporate board in alignment with DGF and Global AFR/Starbroker strategies
- Proactively monitor target achievement of key financial and operational metrics/action plans and escalate significant business risks to Starbroker Senior Management Team as early as possible
- Lead global projects related to Starbroker (e.g. Implementation of Starbroker Asia, Americas) from a finance standpoint to ensure financial transparency of Global Starbroker results
- Lead and ensure delivery of complex budgeting activities and initiatives within Starbroker with significant impact on overall results and/ or significant business risk potential
- Continuously improve and standardize Starbroker budgeting/reporting/forecasting and controlling processes/systems/ techniques/methods in line with DGF digitalization and offshoring strategy
- Provide Starbroker Carrier/HUBs/Gateways necessary analyses and aid simulation of complex profitability scenarios considering the impact of future/past one-offs and future rate reductions at trade lane and customer level in an accurate/timely manner
- Provide support to carrier management process including in-house carrier concept i.e. Starbroker
- Manage and supervise the collection of carrier incentives and take over the reporting/distribution of the same to regions/countries in alignment with GFB members (Global CEO/Global CFO/Global Head of AFR)
- Internal Controls Systems owner for Starbroker Finance
- Central point of contact for audit activities related to in-house carrier entity Starbroker
- Ensures that all relevant processes and initiatives are correctly documented and lead/provide the respective trainings to the countries (Operation and finance).
- Coordinate and support technical CREST adjustments and month end closing processes
- Consults, reviews, creates and publishes controlling procedures to ensure Steering Logic compliant reporting of Starbroker results globally
- Manage a team of 2 GSC resources as regards their work content and develop them in to business controllers for the division

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Assertive, persistent and able to challenge/influence Senior Management Team members using financial/business acumen
- Ability to manage key/large and complex strategic projects (high volume of investment/risk) with limited oversight from manager
- Will need to drive large projects/processes independently e.g. rollout of Starbroker in Asia and Americas
- In depth understanding of key drivers of AFR Gateway/Carrier Profitability and incorporation in deliverables by detecting and comprehending complex connections
- Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills in order to analyze/understand, simulate and explain complex business scenarios in a structured/coherent manner to Global Head of Air Freight and Sta
