ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for a Director of Business Development, Commercial (Industrial & Medical) with a strong entrepreneurial background and proven track record of achieving targets and building client trust. The successful candidate will be required to engage clients at the most senior levels and must therefore have had real presence, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to forge long lasting customer relationships.


The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing Wind River’s strategic vision across the region. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with significant experience in the European Industrial and Medical markets. The successful candidate will lead EMEA account teams, leveraging deep market insights and strong client relationships to drive business growth and development within these critical sectors.


Responsibilities:

  • and oversee the execution of Wind River’s business development strategy for Industrial and Medical sectors in the EMEA region.
  • and guide EMEA account teams in identifying, pursuing, and securing business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners within the EMEA region, with a focus on understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • extensive experience in software infrastructure and application development to enhance Wind River’s market position and offer competitive solutions.
  • a collaborative environment, utilizing matrix management skills to coordinate efforts across different functional teams and regions.
  • analyze market trends and competitor activities in the EMEA region to identify emerging opportunities and potential challenges. Market analysis, including program identification and analysis. Identify key programs, stakeholders, agencies, clients, ecosystem players and market trends with emerging opportunities and how we can address (e.g. build the GTM strategy).
  • closely with sales, marketing, product management ensuring alignment with above market analysis and opportunities.
  • building with industry consortia and government agencies to support sales reps in their client pursuits.


Qualifications:

  • least 10 years of experience in business development, account management, or a related field within the Industrial and/or Medical sectors, specifically in Europe.
  • track record of developing and executing successful business strategies in the EMEA region.
  • experience with client management and engagement, demonstrating the ability to establish and grow significant client relationships.
  • understanding of software infrastructure technology and application development, particularly in highly secure, mission-critical environments.
  • leadership and matrix management abilities, capable of motivating teams and fostering collaboration across diverse groups.
  • communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
