Commercial Director of Tour OperatorProduct

lastminute.com is looking for aCommercial Director to join our team and take full responsibilityfor our entire line. In this role, you will act as a bridge betweendifferentdepartments.

Responsibilities
  1. CommercialOversight: Assume primary responsibility for allcommercial aspects of tour operator product management, includingcontract negotiations, conclusion, and monitoring of agreements.Oversee the entire lifecycle of negotiated contracts, from initialnegotiation to finalexecution.
  2. ContractManagement: Lead contract negotiations with touroperators and shipping companies. Collaborate closely with internalstakeholders, including the legal department and procurement, toensure compliance and adherence to company policies andstandards.
  3. PerformanceMonitoring: Implement robust monitoring mechanisms totrack and evaluate the achievement of target conditions on a weeklyand monthly basis. Generate comprehensive reports on targetachievement and provide insights for strategicdecision-making.
  4. CommissionAnalysis: Develop commission overviews encompassingcritical details of negotiated contracts. Generate monthlycommission projections and determine optimal commission structuresto maximize profitability. Monitor and verify the timely receipt ofcommissions and supercommissions.
  5. VendorEvaluation: Assess the suitability of new tour operatorsand shipping companies to augment the existing organizerportfolios. Conduct thorough evaluations to identify potentialpartners aligned with company objectives andstandards.
  6. StakeholderCoordination: Coordinate with internal teams to addressissues arising from tour operators’ non-compliance with contractualobligations or performance targets. Implement corrective measuresto ensure data quality andaccuracy.
  7. ConflictResolution: Serve as the final escalation point fordisputes with tour operators, customer complaints, or fraud-relatedmatters. Utilize negotiation skills and industry expertise toresolve conflicts effectively while safeguarding companyinterests.
  8. RelationshipManagement: Foster strong relationships with key touroperator partners through regular communication and personalmeetings, including participation in industry events such as theITB. Represent the company and promote its interests at varioustour operator events.
  9. BudgetPlanning: Take a proactive role in the preparation of thetourism budget, utilizing insights from organizers’ sales figuresto inform strategic financial planning. Collaborate with relevantstakeholders to ensure alignment between budgetary goals andorganizational objectives.
  10. MarketAnalysis: Conduct regular market and competitor analysis,focusing on organizers, to identify shifts, trends, andopportunities within the tourism industry. Monitor changes in themarket landscape and competitor strategies, providing actionableinsights to support informed decision-making and productdevelopmentinitiatives.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’sdegree in Business Administration, Tourism or HospitalityManagement, or related field.
  2. Proven experiencein commercial management within the German tourism or hospitalityindustry, with a focus on tour operatorproducts.
  3. Good knowledge of Midoco, AmadeusLeisure, Peakwork, GIATA and further market relatedsystems.
  4. Strong negotiation skills and theability to effectively manage complexcontracts.
  5. Excellent analytical abilities withproficiency in generating and interpreting financialreports.
  6. Demonstrated expertise in vendorevaluation and relationshipmanagement.
  7. Exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholdersat all levels.
  8. Strategic mindset with aproactive approach to problem-solving anddecision-making.
  9. Flexibility to travel formeetings, conferences, and industry events asrequired.
