The role of Programme Manager for Geospatial Solutions at FSC is an essential position responsible for spearheading the development and execution of the GIS program. This entails overseeing the creation of program infrastructure, software products, databases, and spatial analytics tools, ensuring they seamlessly integrate with existing systems. Managing a team of geospatial systems engineers, cultivating relationships with technology service providers and partners, and strategically supervising product development processes are key aspects of this role, focusing on incorporating cutting-edge GIS technologies and innovative solutions.
Main Roles & Responsibilities- Define the strategy and plans for GIS implementations aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Lead GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery meeting quality standards.
- Operationalize GIS products, including establishing channels, resources, and methods for solution availability.
- Support internally developed GIS solutions, coordinating with external providers and addressing customer needs.
- Provide training and support to staff involved in GIS projects to enhance their skills.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of GIS projects, including project plans and technical specifications.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to cater to organizational needs.
Education and Training:
- University degree or equivalent training/experience in a relevant field.
Working Experience, Style, and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Geospatial Systems like ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth, OpenStreetMap, ESRI.
- Proven expertise in using imagery and remote sensing solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple staff needs, procurements, and partner engagement efficiently.
- Experience in conducting needs analysis workshops and defining project requirements.
- Focus on solutions and service-oriented work ethic.
- Extensive project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience overseeing staff teams.
- Technical skills in ArcGIS, project management tools, version control, software packages, and database management.
- Fluency in English with Spanish proficiency as a plus.
