Onsite Support Engineer | International Non-Profit Organisation | Cologne/Hybrid | 6-Month Contract

Our client is a globally active non-profit organisation operating across multiple continents and supporting impactful medical and humanitarian initiatives. The team in Cologne provides essential IT services to local and international staff, ensuring stable, secure and efficient technical operations across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver onsite 2nd-level support, resolving hardware and software incidents and escalating complex issues to 3rd-level teams or external providers
  • Analyse, document and update tickets, providing clear communication to users throughout the resolution process
  • Maintain and support local IT infrastructure, including printers, desktop and mobile devices, unified communication tools and conference room equipment
  • Provide support for Citrix users and manage access controls
  • Install, configure and relocate IT equipment, supporting the full lifecycle from procurement to disposal
  • Provision Windows desktops and laptops using Matrix42
  • Coordinate IT onboarding for new employees, including workstation setup, user management and basic training
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and adapt local infrastructure needs in alignment with central IT teams
  • Oversee local IT suppliers, monitor service levels and support the delivery of external technical resources when required
  • Identify and drive service improvements as needed

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in 2nd-level support within a dynamic environment
  • Solid understanding of Windows client systems, hardware troubleshooting and communication technologies
  • Experience with Matrix42 or similar device management tools is a plus
  • Hands-on, structured and service-oriented working style
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in German and English
