**HEAD OF MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS**
- Location: Germany, Hamburg
- Salary: €150,000 - €170,000 + bonus and allowances
- Oil & Gas exploration & production experience required

Turner Lovell are currently shortlisting for a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for an international energy company located across Europe, Middle East and South America. They are active in the exploration and production of oil and gas assets and hydrogen. They are currently pursuing the objective of diversifying their portfolio and would like an experienced, hands-on leader to oversee an international team of M&A project managers.

**The Role**:

- Lead and manage a team of experienced M&A project managers developing gas and oil exploration and production assets.
- Manage the extensive M&A pipeline and accelerate global business development activities in cooperation with head office and local entity management teams.
- Collaborate and deputise for the VP M&A and Business Development in developing and executing the company’s M&A strategy.
- Provide hands on leadership in the transaction cycle from origination to execution stages.
- Build strong relationships with external partners, investment banking connections and other expert advisors in legal, financial, and advisory teams.
- Use your knowledge of upstream oil and gas M&A transactions to coach, mentor and develop the team with the goal of closing skill gaps.

**The Person**:

- Master’s degree on Finance, Business, or related topic.
- At least 5 years in a senior role leading international M&A transactions in the exploration and production of oil and gas sector.
- Previous experience working for a reputable Investment Bank, Big 4 consultancy, or oil & gas operator.
- Capability to lead the negotiation of agreements, conducting Financial Due Diligence, developing investment recommendations, and liaising with investment banks / advisory teams.
- Character to develop other junior M&A professionals.
- Extensive network of external professionals.
- Confident stakeholder management and executive level partnership building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-driven, motivated and combination of a democratic and hands-on leader.
