About EIT Health
EIT Health, a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) under the umbrella of the European
Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), is focused on supporting entrepreneurship, innovation,
and education, to promote healthy living, support active ageing and improve healthcare. EIT Health
brings together leading organisations along the entire value chain - smaller companies, larger
industry, excellent academic and research institutions, and public sector organisations. Together we
work toward a healthier Europe by removing barriers to innovation, promoting talent and education,
leveraging enabling technologies and exploiting big data. EIT Health has Central Offices in Munich and
develops activities across a network of Co-Location Centres (CLCs) in Paris, London, Barcelona,
Rotterdam, Stockholm, Vienna and Mannheim. In addition, the InnoStars office in Budapest involves
Partners from Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Italy. EIT Health includes more than 150 partners.

About EIT Health Spain
The CLC based in Spain manages the EIT Health Spanish Partners and brings to the network
innovation assets and activity from across that region. To this end, the CLC:

- fosters cooperation between the Spain based partners and ecosystem contributors, amongst

each other and with their counterparts all over Europe in the EIT Health network;
- identifies new opportunities, supports the development of impactful projects and leverages

good practice;
- drives regional and super-regional outreach and dissemination;
- explores, develops and implements new service and business models that add value to the

partnership and support the organisation’s sustainability.

The CLC based in Spain is operated by EIT Health Spain, which now seeks to appoint a new Managing
Director with the experience, skills, motivation and personal capabilities to lead and develop the CLC
team and portfolio, to conduct the day-to-day business of the CLC, and to grow and represent the
partnership. The appointed individual will also be invited to participate within appropriate committees
and boards that coordinate the KIC LE as a whole. The person in this position also works closely with
the C- level of the organisation, as well as with the leadership of other CLCs. All decision making bodies
and committees of EIT Health are accountable to the Supervisory Board of the organisation.

About the Role & its Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to manage day-to-day operations of the CLC with seven other core
team members across the portfolios Innovation, Education, Business Creation and Corporate Affairs.

Specifically, this involves:

- Steering the CLC Spain, as its spokesperson and operational lead.
- Further development and positioning of the CLC Spain regionally, nationally and throughout

Europe as a major driver in healthcare innovation adoption, education, talent development
and business creation.
- Responsibility for all financial, legal and administrative aspects of the CLC Spain and its

associated legal entities, Asociación EIT Health Spain and future foundation.
- Leading and facilitating the cooperation of all Spanish partners within the CLC and with the

entire EIT Health community.

- Representing the CLC Spain and providing an influential voice in the SMT.
- Steering all CLC-specific aspects of the overall EIT Health Business Plan and managing the
- corresponding assets.- Collaborating and coordinating with colleagues at European and regional level to define,

create and grow maximum synergies and opportunities for cooperation and portfolio
development, as well as to support the joint reporting and monitoring activities required to
fulfill EIT Health’s broader objectives.
- Planning and managing stakeholder relations including attracting new partners from

academia, industry, and/or the health and social care sectors.
- Contributing to the success of emerging strategic initiatives validated by the Supervisory

Board and Strategic Management Team (and strengthening Spanish participation in these
initiatives.
- Developing new initiatives, projects or services that support the EIT Health strategy and can

also yield new revenues and funding streams that support the sustainability of the CLC and
the wider EIT Health organisation.
Current priorities include:

- Stablising a team largely composed of innovative and engaged professionals.
- Restablishing effective governance, and in particular Partner shaping, of the CLC agenda
- following recent governance changes.- Growth of the Spain partner base.
- Deepening engagement with the Spanish health innovation ecosystem.
- Engaging autonomous regions and local governments in aligned actions mobilizing NextGen
- initiatives.- Developing the EIT Health activities and services of the Spanish node to contribute to

sustainability of the organisation and network.
