**Building a global effort on clean electricity transition**

The Pooled fund on International Energy (PIE) is an international grant making and strategy platform, formed in 2013 working with foundations, peer organisations and more than 200 civil society partners around the world to surge clean power and phase down coal and gas in the context of a just transition. With 20 staff currently, and a grantmaking budget of over $45m, active in more than 20 countries directly (and co-ordinating with our peer network to cover the whole world), PIE has a 10 year track record of strategic grant making, strategy development and convening. Today PIE is working on full electricity sector decarbonisation with a focus on near term acceleration of renewables, phasing coal down and out and making fossil-free steel a reality primarily through electrification.

PIE is now seeking an Executive Director for Regions and Industry, reporting to the CEO, responsible for leading two of its four major workstreams: the national efforts in emerging economies and the global steel strategy. Working with, and leading, an empowered team of directors, officers and partners, the Executive Director will drive strategy and implementation across these two areas, accountable to all stakeholders including the funding community. At this critical time of growth will also share responsibility with PIE’s leadership for building and running the organisation. As part of PIE’s leadership team, the Executive Director will help steer and co-ordinate other workstreams and close partners, ensuring coherence between national and transnational strategies.

The successful Executive Director for Regions and Industry will bring significant and proven senior leadership experience, including a relevant track record of bringing about change ideally in the energy and climate sectors. You will bring strong knowledge of, and deep interest in, the energy sector including the policy environment and donor funding community and the ability to maintain trusting relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be a brilliant leader, able to empower the people around you, a strategist and networker and have the instincts to be a responsible grantmaker and partner to the PIE network. Above all, you will care passionately about climate action, clean energy, and strengthening civil society to shape the way forward.
