**The Essence of this Role**

**We are looking for a Legal Counsel, Lead with the following attributes**:

**What You'll Do**

You'll become knowledgeable about our technology, products and be involved in helping us build world leading data practices, communicating the vision of Affinidi as it changes and evolves. On the product side you'll help to ensure that we are able to launch our products globally by collaborating with the company's product and business teams from the initial stages of product development and beyond to identify potential legal risks and provide risk-mitigation counselling.

**You will**:

- Support the General Counsel in formulating the data/privacy strategy for Affinidi's business and operations.
- Lead Affinidi's data strategy (including data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity) internally by putting in place privacy policies and programmes to ensure we are adhering to data regulations globally.
- Provide privacy counselling across the company to support the growth and development of the business.
- Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams on privacy by design, privacy impact assessments, and other supporting documentation.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulations impacting the technology industry and ensure compliance.
- Play a part in developing Affinidi's approach to public policy
- 8+ years of legal experience in tech or background in TMT, regulatory and privacy law (PDPA, GDPR).
- Able to identify risks, formulate practical solutions in areas where there may not be precedents
- Are passionate about working in a start-up environment and love to problem solve and come up with creative ideas to solve customer challenges.
- Possess a growth mindset with a strong bias for action and are able to proactively execute tasks and have a structured working style.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align legal advice with organizational goals.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.

**Good to have**:

- Strong understanding of the technology industry, including regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in counselling on broader Product issues will be a significant advantage.
