As we expand our operations in Europe, we are looking for a Business Development leader with strategic views and outstanding business sense to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Director/Sr. Management level of Strategy and Business Development to spearhead our business development activities in the European market (starting with western Europe). This role will directly work with the company's seniors and top management and will be critical in driving growth and establishing Pony.ai’s footprint across this region. In its early phase, this position will involve approximately 2/3 of the time spent in Europe and 1/3 in Beijing to facilitate collaboration with our headquarters and ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

- Advocacy and Representation: Be the region'sgo-to person for our Robotaxi and Robotruck projects in Europe, monitoring project execution and revenue generation. Act as a representative for Pony.ai at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events, promoting our brand and fostering connections.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies tailored to the European market, aligning with Pony.ai's overall vision and objectives. Plan and prepare collaboration schemes with potential partners and clients, including but not limited to designing cooperation models for different business types, calculating financial models, drafting business plans, negotiating agreements, and preparing bid proposals.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective clients, industry partners, and regulatory bodies to facilitate collaboration and business opportunities.
- Team Development: Plan and establish a comprehensive business team in Europe, identifying key roles needed, recruiting talent, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Performance Metrics: Establish Objective Key Results (OKRs) to measure the success of business development initiatives and report progress to senior leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, AI engineering, operations, PR teams to ensure alignment of strategies and successful execution of initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; Master or MBA preferred.
- With legitimate permit to work in Europe.
- 8+ years of experience in strategy and business development, with at least 5 years experience in the technology or automotive sector, preferably focusing on autonomous driving R&D, or AI-related industries within the European market.
- Proven track record of developing successful business strategies and partnerships.
- Native-level proficiency in German, professional in English is a must; proficiency in Chinese is a significant plus.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and strategic thinking.

Pay: 100.000,00€ - 200.000,00€ per year
