What we do

The climate transition demands radical changes in the way we do business and trillions in new capital investments. The EU has mobilized sustainable finance regulation to be a key means of driving this green capital into more sustainable business activities.Based out of the Berlin AI Campus and financially backed by Merantix AG, Briink is a passionate team of entrepreneurs, data scientists, software engineers, designers, and sustainability experts. We harness the scale of AI to help businesses and financial institutions transform sustainable finance regulation into technology solutions that can be adopted at scale.

Our first product transforms the EU taxonomy for sustainable activities into a machine learning powered Sustainability-as-a-Service platform to enhance the ability of financial institutions and corporations to assess taxonomy eligibility and alignment, and make it easier to access the green capital so crucial to the climate transition. We plan to further develop our product to cover other use cases in the sustainable finance domain, including inter alia the complex array of KPIs emerging under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

Your role

You will join a vital, fast-growing startup with secured seed financing and play a central role in its growth journey. You will dive deep into complex topics in search of the right product-market fit in close collaboration with the product, design and engineering teams. You will be connecting with a wide variety of internal and external counterparts and translating those user stories into practical problems for our product to solve. You will gain exposure to emerging technologies in one of the most forward-looking machine learning hubs in Europe, and may have to travel occasionally.

What you will be doing
- Be our core in-house expert with respect to enacted and emerging sustainable finance regulation in the EU
- Collaborate directly with our product, design, and engineering teams to encode the sustainable finance regulatory landscape into technology solutions
- Integrate potential product insights with sustainability methodologies and frameworks employed by businesses
- Participate in Briink’s business development and partnerships strategy, employing your network to identify strategic partners, customers and new verticals to approach
- Identify customers’ pain points through user interviews/workshops to continuously evolve the product and maximize its value proposition
- Provide sustainable finance advisory services to customers or prospective customers from time-to-time
- Bring together our sustainability team and coordinate sustainability initiatives
- Identify opportunities linked with Briink’s current projects / solutions
- Join us on the soapbox - be a climate advocate who commits to maximize impacts.

**Profile**:

- Significant experience in sustainable finance, either directly within a pivotal corporation or in finance, consulting, law, investor relations, corporate reporting, investment banking, or other related field
- Comprehensive knowledge of the sustainable finance regulatory frameworks in the EU, including the EU taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
- Access to a community of sustainable finance professionals, organizations, regulators and businesses with an interest in sustainable finance within the EU
- Master’s Degree in a related discipline (e.g. sustainable finance, finance, law, environmental management, accounting, business administration)
- Berlin based (or willing to relocate to Berlin)

**Some nice-to-haves**:

- Experience working in a startup environment and a love for the unknown
- Experience building products and/or working with agile product design methodologies
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following fields is an asset: risk management, sustainable finance, sustainability reporting, capital markets
- Courses or designations in sustainable finance, the SDGs, or impact are an asset
- German proficiency
