But there’s more work to be done - that’s why we need you to join us **Job Description**: A key challenge of the energy transition is to ensure a stable and efficient energy supply with a noticeable increase in the share of wind and solar energy. Our intraday trading team in Düsseldorf is making an important and exciting contribution to this. We already manage Germany's largest renewable energy portfolio (>11,000 MW, approx. 20% of all German onshore wind turbines) on the relevant short-term markets, thus enabling the successful integration of wind and solar energy into the energy market. **Your role**: **Learning on the job**: You will work on the pulse of short-term energy trading. You will work independently, but also supported by intraday traders and analysts on your projects and will be able to bring your fundamental knowledge of the energy markets to the highest level. **Creativity and innovation**: An important part is the new and further development of our models and algorithms, which are based on machine learning, time series and statistical data analysis. Here, you can also develop your own trading ideas and subsequently experience their success in real energy market events. **Contribute**: You will support us from the very beginning in the further development and improvement of our performance forecasts for wind and solar energy, as well as other price and fundamental forecasts. **International working environment**: With six nationalities within the intraday teams alone, you will work in a very international environment, which is characterized by competence, willingness to innovate and start-up atmosphere. **Qualifications**: - Enrolled in a university, ideally with a business, engineering, mathematics or other natural science background - Solid mathematical and statistical skills - Strong programming affinity (Python at best). - Experience with machine learning, time series analysis, and statistical modelling is a plus - Proactive and independent way of working - Very good English skills to ensure optimal collaboration in an international team Additional Information A career with Statkraft is a career filled with purpose - meaning that every employee is not just making a living, they are making a real difference to the planet, our communities and the future.
