Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**: - Serves as Network Manager and Sub Hand Receipt holder for the Africa Command (AFRICOM) J63, Network Infrastructure Division (NID). - Responsible for Local Area Network (LAN) management, technical operation, analysis, installation and repair. - Applies analytical and evaluative processes related to classified/unclassified computer networks with telecommunications cryptographic devices and/or automation equipment. - Responsible for providing customer support and local physical support to the LAN and Wide Area Network (WAN). - Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing goals, objectives and milestones for current target and objective commanders and Information Management Officers (IMOs). - Responsible for the accountability and asset visibility of all Network Operations equipment that support the AFRICOM Enterprise Network (AEN). **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - Three year trial/probationary period may be required. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee United States Passport. - Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). - The IT classification for this position is IT II. Position is designated as special sensitive. - Incumbent must be able to meet and maintain IT certification standards for IAT Level II as provided in DoD 8570-IM Information Assurance certification standards within 6 months of hire. - This position is designated as IAT Level II position. - Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M. - Overtime will be required on short notice. - Shift work may be required on a 24/7 basis and may be necessary during exercises, crises or contingencies. - Incumbent may be required to temporarily work extended and irregular tours of duty to include days, nights, shifts and weekend. - Incumbent may be required to perform 25% TDY to U.S. AFRICOM areas of responsibility. - Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. - May be required to carry a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) cellular device. - The incumbent may also be on an "on-call" status on a rotational basis. **Qualifications**: **Who May Apply**: **This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.** To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
