You will become an integral part of the Continental Legal Department supporting “Gas Supply, Capacity and Storage” team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH. Our department plays a crucial role in advising the company’s business on all legal matters - relating to commodity trading, solutions for large industrial customers, green power purchase agreements, regulatory requirements and lots more. By enabling innovative business ideas, we contribute to RWE’s mission “Our Energy for a sustainable life”. While based in Essen, we work closely with our colleagues in the United Kingdom (UK), BeNeLux and further abroad.

We are currently seeking a skilled paralegal to support us, primarily focusing on licensing and regulatory reporting for Europe and Eastern Europe.

In this role, you will be a key asset in our team, contributing to various tasks and leading your projects in the following areas:

- Coordination of projects for entering into new markets for commodity trading
- License Management, monitoring regulatory developments in those jurisdictions where RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is already set-up and doing business; organising the necessary steps for license renewals
- Manage the interface with internal and external stakeholders, regulatory authorities and external legal advisors
- Monitor and analyse reporting requirements for commodity trading activities in various countries; report and implement these findings within the relevant cross-functional teams
- Provide general support to lawyers while also handling your own cases and responsibilities
- Showcase your organisational skills by taking over suitable tasks in projects or proceedings and by managing your independent projects
- Actively participating in driving and implementing digitalisation projects within the legal department such as document management, document creation and knowledge data bases

**Your powerful skills**
- EU-, preferably German-law, qualified paralegal (e.g. Master of Laws or “Diplom - Wirtschaftsjurist” or associated degree)
- Complex commercial and legal matters of the energy markets are not frightening you away but you rather enjoy helping to tackle them - as a real team player
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication and team working skills with a high degree of personal commitment, motivation and the ability to work independently
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills in German and English

**Advantageous, but not a must**
- Ideally having work experience in the energy sector
