Molecular Principles, Cellular Functions, and Diseases“ starting from 01.06.2025 until 31.05.2028 of a

Scientist with PhD qualification (m-f-d)

based on a part-time contract (65%).

Salary is based on the German civil service pay scale (TV-L) and depends on the individual qualification and

experience up to salary group 13 TV-L.

**Tasks**:
The interdisciplinary, DFG‐funded graduate training program (Research Training Group) RTG 2467 entitled

“Intrinsically Disordered Proteins - Molecular Principles, Cellular Functions, and Diseases” will focus on in‐

vestigating how intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), or intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) in proteins,

fulfil their biological functions via interactions with binding proteins or RNA. Projects funded by the program

will employ a broad spectrum of methods and techniques, ranging from biophysics to cell biology. The RTG

will provide a comprehensive education in an international and scientifically stimulating research environ
- Design, implementation and analysis of experiments as well as their methodological development
- (Bio-) synthesis of RNA and peptides/proteins
- Biophysical and biochemical characterization of proteins, nucleic acids and protein complexes (in vitro, in

cellulo)
- Presentations at conferences and in scientific publications

Requirements**:

- Completed Master's degree in Biophysics, Physics, Biochemistry, Biology or equivalent
- Interest in biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology of cell organelles
- Good basic knowledge of biophysical and biochemical techniques and concepts
- Experience in the field of fluorescence spectroscopy and handling of proteins
- Basic knowledge of programming languages is advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (active and passive, oral and written)
- High motivation to cooperate within the graduate school
- Good cooperation and communication skills, teamwork
