Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences 1 - Biosciences offers a temporary

position in a DFG-funded Research Training Group GRK 2467 „Intrinsically Disordered Proteins - Molecular

Principles, Cellular Functions, and Diseases“ starting from 01.06.2025 until 31.05.2028 of a

Research Assistant*PhD Student (m-f-d)

in part-time (65%).

Salary is based on the German civil service pay scale (TV-L) and depends on the individual qualification and

experience up to salary group 13 TV-L.

Work Tasks:
The interdisciplinary, DFG‐funded graduate training program (Research Training Group) RTG 2467 entitled

“Intrinsically Disordered Proteins - Molecular Principles, Cellular Functions, and Diseases” will focus on in‐

vestigating how intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), or intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) in proteins,

fulfil their biological functions via interactions with binding proteins or RNA. Projects funded by the program

will employ a broad spectrum of methods and techniques, ranging from biophysics to cell biology. The RTG

will provide a comprehensive education in an international and scientifically stimulating research environ
- Investigation of IDR-functions in the RNA-binding proteins RAVER1 and RAVER2
- Characterization of RAVERs’ IDRs in guiding alternative splicing in cancer
- Deciphering the IDR-directed roles of RAVER proteins in hematopoiesis, leukemia, and solid cancers
- Presentation and Publication of scientific data
- Participation in structured training concepts of the RTG2467

The opportunity for scientific PhD qualification is given.

**Requirements**:
Biology or equivalent)
- Solid expertise in cancer biology, RNA-binding proteins (ideally RAVERs) and alternative splicing analyses
- Strong interest in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology of cancer and NGS/MS data analyses
- EU-conform qualifications for animal experimentation
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (active and passive, oral and written)
- Highly motivated to cooperate within the Research Training Group
- Good team players, good communication skills
