largest university in Saxony-Anhalt was created in 1817 when the University of Wittenberg (founded in 1502)

merged with Friedrichs University Halle (founded in 1694). Today the university has 340 professors and 20,000

students. Research at the university focuses on nano and life sciences, the Enlightenment, society and culture.

At the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Pharmacy,

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, within the frame of the Micropank consortium is seeking to fill

the temporary, initially three-year, position of a

research assistant / PhD student (m-f-d)

in filled part-time (65%) at the earliest possible date.

The salary will be according to salary group 13 TV-L, depending on the assigned tasks and individual quali
- fications.

**Tasks**:

- Design, manufacturing and characterization of materials for the noninvasive characterization of the micro
- environment inside pancreatic tumor organoids and cells of the tumor microenvironment
- Development of oxygen and pH-sensitive sensors for optical imaging
- Development of oxygen and pH-sensitive sensors for electron spin resonance spectroscopy and imaging
- Incorporation of the developed sensors in electrospun scaffolds
- Independent project management
- Participation in national and international collaborations

The opportunity for own scientific qualification is given.

**Requirements**:

- Completed scientific university degree in the life sciences
- Experience with the manufacturing of nanoparticles or nanocapsules
- Experience with the characterization of nano
- and micron sized materials
- Knowledge in material properties for drug delivery, biochemical engineering
- Scientific processing, presentation and publication of achieved results
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Analytical and problem-orientated thinking
- Structured and thorough way of working
- Ability to work in a team
