The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Biology, Department

of Genetics, Division of General Genetics offers the following position starting from the next possible date a**

PhD student/Scientific Employee (M/F/d)

The position is initally funded for three years in part time (65 %), starting as soon as possible. Salaries will be

according to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, depending on the assigned tasks and individual qualifications.

**Tasks**:

- Working on an innovative research project to investigate telescripting in crop plants. This interdisciplinary

project aims to investigate the role of telescripting in plant stress responses using bioinformatic and

molecular methods.
- Bioinformatic Analyses**:Proficiency in bioinformatics or willingness to acquire computational skills for

transcriptome analysis.
- Sequencing Libraries**:Plan and produce sequencing libraries (RNA-sequencing) to accessing telescripting

defects in monocot and dicot crops.
- Plant physiological assay: Plan and perform stress response experiment with various crops

The opportunity to gain your own academic qualification in the form of a doctorate is given.

**Requirements**:

- Education: Completed scientific university degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related

fields
- Research Interests: Research interests in the field of gene regulation at the RNA level
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams and communicate scientific

results clearly
- Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written)
