Are you a seasoned financial expert with in-depth knowledge of German tax and accounting regulations? Richmond Blackwood is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in Berlin and directly influence our financial strategy and operations. As an integral part of our team, you will have the autonomy to independently lead and build a high-performing accounting team, shaping the financial landscape of our company from the ground up.

Richmond Blackwood is a full-stack accounting and financial planning firm that helps high earning independents optimize their finances by leveling up from sole proprietaries to limited companies. It scaled from 0 to €200k ARR within 1 year, without any external financing.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and tax, both in Ireland and Germany;
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and reporting.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the CEO and executive team to drive business growth and profitability.
- Directly manage financial operations, including preparing financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant German and Irish financial regulations and standards.
- Liaise with German and Irish tax authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate and manage financial risks, including currency exposure, credit risk, and operational risks.
- Manage and oversee inter-company transactions to ensure proper accounting and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support the company's fundraising efforts, including debt and equity financing.
- Provide hands-on support for client financial matters, including complex tax issues and financial optimization strategies.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA) is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience;
- Expert knowledge of German tax laws and accounting regulations.
- Certification as a Wirtschaftsprüfer or Steuerberater (Tax Advisor) license is a must.
- Proven track record of success in financial management, strategy development, and execution.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in the professional services or financial services industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Fluency in German is required.
