- We are looking for a Director of Sales to be based in Germany with an established record of sales leadership, operational brilliance and revenue generation as well as a deep interest and passion for online media, audio, and innovation.
- In this role, you will oversee our Ad Sales efforts both across German agency’s (holding companies and independents) as well as advertisers. We want someone who loves our product, knows the German ad market, clients & agency landscape, can build creative, long-term consultative solutions, and lead, motivate, operationalise and grow a sales team of Client Partners. You should be confident without being arrogant, and hardworking while still knowing how to have fun.
What You'll Do
- In collaboration with the Central Europe Market Leads, you will help define the sales strategy and drive execution with our key partners & agencies.
- Partner closely with the Head of Sales, Agency Development Lead & Trading to ensure strategic & commercial elements are driving towards our prioritized business goals.
- Proactively identify and seek out agency, client and industry relationships to optimize revenue.
- Drive partnership performance, engage with key partners, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Represent Spotify in the advertising community by seeking out and participating at industry events.
- Provide leadership for the dynamic, diverse, and hardworking sales team.
- Hire, manage & develop a number of German Client Partners.
- Be brilliant at the basics. Manage pipeline, revenue forecasts, sales activity using Salesforce for maximum efficiency and visibility.
- Maintain high levels of communication and transparency with management, cross-functional teams, and business partners.
Who You Are
- 10+ years of digital advertising/marketing sales and management experience
- Experienced sales leader, consultative seller with a proven track record of hitting & exciting quarterly revenue expectations
- Personal network in place with senior agency contacts across several agency groups in Germany and consistent track record of successfully growing revenue through the development of strategic relationships
- Experience in working for matrix organizations & ability to win the support and drive deliverable timelines from key internal cross-functional stakeholders
- A deep understanding of the marketing landscape and expertise in account planning, trading, strategic planning, and media buying within Direct & Programmatic environments
- Experience running a team where Data/Insights drive the direction of the business
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, energetic, and willing to thrive in a high growth organization
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiating skills
- Fluent German and English language, spoken and written is required
