Head of Project Development

At Novocarbo, we work as a team to solve one of the most important problems of our time: our goal is to store 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually, making a significant contribution to achieving climate goals. We are one of the largest producers and distributors of biochar in Europe and sell our Carbon Removal Credits to renowned companies worldwide. Several new sites for the production of biochar and regenerative heat are already in planning. To continue this positive momentum, we are looking for a Head of Project Development & Management (all genders). This team lead position is a crucial part for the construction of new biochar production sites and will play a valuable role in Novocarbo’s growth. Tasks 1\. You lead the scouting, evaluation and appraisal of our site expansion projects by - ensuring streamlined processes to identify and evaluate potential locations for new Novocarbo production sites - leading the entire project development process of new production sites, from initial partner acquisition, negotiating partnership terms to setting up workflows for project realization - creating a financial evaluation of prospective construction projects to rate the value for the business and request necessary internal resources (i.e. Finance Team, Managing Directors, Project Management) 2\. Once projects go into realization phase, you account for the individual construction projects by - leading the project management team in creating and implementing comprehensive project plans, including milestones, resource allocation, and budgeting for >€15 million construction projects - managing external stakeholders (clients and partners) to understand requirements and ensuring that all projects aligns with market needs and company strategy 3\. Throughout the whole process, you ensure internal and external Compliance by - keeping up with regulations that are important to Novocarbo and our projects - filing necessary legal documentation (i.e. BImSchG) in a timely manner - coordinating internal and external requirements for our constructions accordingly 4\. Team Leadership for the Site Development Team (currently 5 people and expected to grow) **Requirements**: **These are your professional qualifications we’d appreciate**: - You have a university degree with a technical or economic focus and have at least 5-7 years experience working in commercial or technical project management. - You have a proven record of successfully leading projects in a technical environment, preferably production industry or site development. - You are able to think on different strategic levels (deep dive into product strategy and market dynamics as well as drive high level organisztional strategy) and are able to quickly adapt to changing market environments. - You are experienced in leading a small and diversely skilled team in fast paced environments and sharing success is what you strive for. - You communicate fluently in German and English.
