Research Assistant (f/m/d)

Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration Research

Full time / permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Develop, validate, and implement biochemical and cellular assays for small molecule screening and profiling on various technology platforms including BRET, TR-FRET, MSD and high-content imaging
- Generate and characterize disease models in relevant cell culture systems including iPSC-derived cells, primary cells, and mammalian cell lines using pharmacological and genetic tools
- Perform molecular, cellular, and biochemical laboratory experiments including tissue homogenization, protein aggregation assays, immunofluorescence, high throughput imaging, and Western blot analysis
- Work closely with project leaders and cross-functional teams to meet project demands
- Manage project demands ensuring quality and timely delivery of data
- Plan, analyze and record experiments independently in electronic notebook

Your ideal qualifications:

- MSc. or BSc. or “Laborant/in” or “Technische/r Assistent/in” in Life Sciences
- Some years of experience in neurodegeneration research, preferably in a Pharma, Biotech or a CRO setting
- Substantial hands-on experience with cell cultures in multi-well format (e.g. 96 well, 384 well plates) is a must
- Experience with immunoassays (e.g. TR-FRET, MSD) and biochemical techniques relevant for target validation and mode of action studies
- Experience with assays addressing neuroinflammation is a plus
- Proficiency in laboratory software, such as Excel or Prism
- Ability to work on multiple projects to produce high-quality data against challenging timelines
- Dynamic personality with high levels of drive, enthusiasm and commitment and ability to cope with pressure
- Excellent team spirit and capability of working with a wide degree of autonomy and independence
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Fluency in written and spoken English, German advantageous
