_Translational Neurosciences_ department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

Senior Research Assistant (f/m/d)

Neurodegeneration Assays

Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Perform biochemical and cell-based assays utilizing semi-automated liquid handlers to support development of novel therapeutic agents targeting neurodegenerative disorders
- Support development, validation, and implementation of new assays for compound profiling and biomarker quantification
- Generate and characterize disease models in relevant cell culture systems including iPSC-derived cells, primary cells, and cell lines using pharmacological and genetic tools
- Work closely and cooperatively with project leaders and cross-functional teams to meet project demands
- Maintain a comprehensive record of experiments with detailed and accurate protocols
- Evaluate quality of own experimental data critically and as needed, engage proactively in troubleshooting activities
- Analyze and summarize results in an appropriate format (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, and GraphPad Prism) and present in regular project meetings

Your ideal qualifications:

- Successfully completed apprenticeship (BTA/CTA/MTA) with several years of hands-on professional laboratory experience or bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Life Sciences with some years of laboratory experience
- Experience in neuroscience research, preferably in a Pharma, Biotech or CRO setting
- Substantial hands-on experience with luminescence/fluorescence-based biochemical and cellular assays (e.g. TR-FRET, ELISA, MSD, high-content imaging, reporter gene assays, western blotting)
- Substantial hands-on experience with primary and/ or stem cell derived neuronal cell culture
- EU Function A (formerly FELASA B) or equivalent certificate would be advantageous
- Ability to work on multiple projects to produce high-quality data against challenging timelines
- Dynamic personality with high levels of drive, enthusiasm and commitment and ability to cope with pressure
- Excellent team spirit and capability of working with a wide degree of autonomy and independence
- Fluency in written and spoken English, German advantageous
