**Within the scope of this dual role and position, you will be expected to work some days out of Marburg.**

**Your tasks and responsibilities**:
**Head (f/m/d) of R&D for Specialty Laboratory Solutions (SLS)**

You will play a key role in advancing our industry leadership by driving innovation, placing clinical value at the forefront of our offerings and profitable growth in the marketplace. You will oversee the development of cutting-edge laboratory diagnostic products and technologies, with a focus on Hematology, Hemostasis, Centralized Urinalysis, Plasma Proteins, and Molecular Diagnostics

Your key responsibilities as Head (f/m/d) of R&D SLS will make up for approximately 70% of your time
- Provide strategic direction: Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives for Specialty Laboratory Solutions. Ensure clinical value and profitability are central to innovation and product development
- Lead R&D activities: Manage a team of scientists, researchers, and engineers to drive research projects, technology development, and product innovation in Hematology, Hemostasis, Centralized Urinalysis, IMMULITE®, Plasma Proteins and Syva®, and Molecular Diagnostics
- Research and innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements in specialty diagnostics and blood diseases and disorders. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the R&D team
- Project leadership: Oversee the planning, execution, and timely completion of R&D projects, ensuring adherence to project goals, budgets, and timelines
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with other business functions, including Product Management, Marketing, and Operations, to align R&D efforts with product lifecycles, roadmaps, and marketing strategies. Foster seamless integration and collaboration across teams, introducing clear accountability and absolute transparency in cooperation with other business functions, encompassing product lifecycles and roadmaps, functional product marketing, and operational R&D activities
- Intellectual property: Identify and protect intellectual property generated through R&D activities, including filing patents and maintaining a strong IP portfolio
- Quality and compliance: Ensure R&D processes, methodologies, and documentation comply with relevant regulatory standards, such as FDA guidelines and ISO certifications
- Talent development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing R&D team. Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and scientific excellence
- External collaborations: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry stakeholders to leverage external expertise and resources
- Budget management: Develop and manage the R&D budget, allocating resources efficiently to maximize productivity and achieve key milestones

**Managing Director (f/m/d) for the dedicated legal entity**

In your capacity as “Geschäftsführer” you will be responsible for locally driving the business for the "Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Products GmbH" with approximately 1.200 employees and locations in Marburg, Duisburg (Logistics Center) and Cologne (Innovation Center)
- You will be responsible for ensuring cross-functional working and enabling all functions to leverage their best potential at the three sites

**Your qualifications and experience**:

- You have a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, hematology) or equivalent industry experience
- You have many years of experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget
- You have a proven track record of success in leading R&D teams and driving innovation in the field of laboratory diagnostics, ideally in Hematology, Hemostasis, Centralized Urinalysis, Plasma Proteins, Molecular Diagnostics
- You have strong knowledge of laboratory diagnostic technologies, methodologies, and regulatory requirements
- You have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate managers of diverse teams of scientists and engineers
