Student Assistant CBPD2025/S06DEADLINE: 2026-01-05The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association seeks to hire aStudent Assistant (f/m/x) for 10-20 hours per week (negotiable)to support the research and data work of the Scientific Team of “CompNet – The Competitive Research Network” led by Prof. Javier Miranda in the IWH Center for Business and Productivity Dynamics (IWH-CBPD).The contract will have a duration for at least half a year, but an extension would be desired.Enrolled students in a Master's program in economics, data science or business or close to attaining a Bachelor’s degree (with plans to pursue a Master afterwards) are offered an opportunity to gain insights into applied economic research in an international team of scholars, based in Halle.Areas of responsibilityCoding and data preparation using statistical software, in particular StataProgramming for graphical representation and econometric or statistical analysisAssistance with project-related and exploratory researchAssistance with writing reports and policy notesQualification and requirementsProgramming skills (and ideally experience) in Stata.
