Creating knowledge since 1502: the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg offers a wide range of

At the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences II, Institute of Physics, Medical

Physics Group is seeking, to fill the temporary position of a

Research assistant (PhD student)

in part time (50 %) at the earliest possible date. The position will be limited until 31.12.2027.

The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

Project tasks:

- Development of a photoacoustic microscope based on optical ultrasound detection using a Fabry-Perot

polymer film sensor
- Scientific communication (journal publications, conference presentations)
- Contribution to teaching in the medical physics or physics degree courses

Qualifications / requirements:

- Completed university degree (master, diploma or equivalent) in physics, biophysics, medical physics, or a

relevant engineering discipline, such as biomedical and optical engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in all or some of the following areas: optics, optoelectronics, programming, nu
- merical modelling, instrumentation control (Labview), signal and image processing
- Very good spoken and written English
- High motivation, ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team, very good organisa
- tional and communication skills.
