About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Explore & Discover area, driving the development of essential tools and products for our online marketplace. As a key member of our leadership team, you will shape the product and engineering vision, ensuring seamless and effective experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 3-5 teams with approximately 30 engineers, overseeing their success and growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create tools and products that resonate with our users, align with customer needs, and contribute to the company's success.
  • Establish the right structure for the area to grow further, aligning with the company's vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Ensure the area is leveraging new technology to build products customers love and work for the business.
  • Continuously raise the engineering bar with experience and passion for software excellence.
  • Manage time, budget, and quality within the area, developing and owning relevant KPIs.
  • Contribute to company guidelines, policies, and standards to improve how we work.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building and shaping cross-functional product teams/organizations, with a strong background in engineering scalable web applications and databases in modern environments.
  • Proficient in utilizing monitoring and profiling tools, with experience in JavaScript & TypeScript, Vue 3, and the Elasticstack.
  • Excellent communication, ownership, and execution skills, with the ability to plan ahead and make tough decisions.
  • Able to lead by example, drive change, and give honest feedback.
