About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Explore & Discover area, driving the development of essential tools and products for our online marketplace. As a key member of our leadership team, you will shape the product and engineering vision, ensuring seamless and effective experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee 3-5 teams with approximately 30 engineers, ensuring the success of our area.
  • Lead engineers through a team of engineering managers or directly, fostering a culture of software excellence.
  • Develop and implement the product and engineering vision for your area, aligning with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Establish the right structure for the area to grow further, ensuring alignment with company vision and mission.
  • Monitor and own relevant KPIs for the area, including cost, SLAs, and SLIs.
  • Contribute to our guidelines, policies, and standards to improve how we work.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building and shaping cross-functional product teams/organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of full-stack tech stacks, including JavaScript & TypeScript, and experience with Vue 3.
  • Proficiency in utilizing monitoring and profiling tools, such as Datadog and Chrome DevTools.
  • Familiarity with distributed search engines and experience with the Elasticstack.
  • Strong communication, ownership, and execution skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to plan ahead, make tough decisions, and drive change.
