About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Explore & Discover team, responsible for developing tools and products that enhance the customer shopping experience on our online marketplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 3-5 teams with approximately 30 engineers, overseeing the success of one of our areas.
  • Shape the product and engineering vision for your area, aligning with customer needs and contributing to the success of our business.
  • Establish the right structure for the area to grow further, ensuring alignment with the company vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Monitor and own relevant KPIs for the area, including cost, SLAs, SLIs, and quality.
  • Contribute to our guidelines, policies, and standards to improve how we work.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building and shaping cross-functional product teams/organizations.
  • Expertise in engineering scalable web applications and databases in modern environments.
  • Proficiency in utilizing monitoring and profiling tools, such as Datadog or Chrome DevTools.
  • Familiarity with distributed search engines, with a plus for experience with the Elasticstack.
  • Strong communication, ownership, and execution skills.
  • Ability to plan ahead, make tough decisions, and drive change.
