Computational Genetics Researcher (f/m/d)
This position is part of a collaborative grant aimed at generating new proteogenomic insights for cardiovascular diseases. The role involves close collaboration with partner institutions, fostering a dynamic research environment. The successful candidate will be expected to lead impactful scientific publications, represent the team in various collaborations and meetings, and assist in mentoring junior researchers.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop computational workflows for the processing and analysis of large-scale genome sequencing data, focusing on variant prioritization and statistical workflows for rare and structural variant analysis. Manage extensive phenotypic datasets for genetic analysis, including outcome derivation from electronic health records. Prepare scientific publications. Integrate diverse types of 'omic' data for causal inference and prioritization of drug targets and disease mechanisms. Train and supervise Master or PhD students in molecular epidemiology.Candidate Profile:
PhD in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, or a closely related field, with a proven ability to write and publish scientific articles. Significant experience in several of the following areas: Generation and/or analysis of high-throughput genetic and genomic data. Genome-scale association analyses using whole-genome or whole-exome sequencing data. High-level expertise in computational genetics, including variant annotation and structural variant calling. Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., R or Python). Strong aptitude for biological inference and clinical translation. Desirable skills include experience with metabolomic and proteomic data, Bayesian statistics, cloud computing services, and electronic health record linkage. Fluent in written and spoken English.We Offer:
