Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to engage in pioneering research at the intersection of computational and developmental biology. This role involves the development of innovative algorithms aimed at elucidating cellular differentiation pathways during embryonic development, utilizing an array of advanced data sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel algorithms to analyze cellular differentiation trajectories from time-resolved single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and lineage tracing datasets.
- Employ machine learning techniques to integrate spatial transcriptomics with other data types, including single-cell transcriptomic data and advanced imaging results.
- Conduct comparative analyses of mouse embryonic development alongside various other species, such as humans, fish, and birds, as well as synthetic embryo models.
- Investigate and compare the development of synthetic organoids with in vivo embryonic growth.
- Collaborate closely with experimental teams to enhance research outcomes.
- Participate actively in a multidisciplinary team comprising data scientists and both computational and experimental biologists.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in computational or natural sciences is required.
- A strong computational or quantitative background, particularly in computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R is essential; experience in developing efficient and reusable software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with team members and scientific partners.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and familiarity with contemporary machine learning techniques.
- Capability to work autonomously and tackle complex analytical challenges.
